Directions: From the North to Dolgellau
Take M62/M60/M62 towards and around Manchester towards the M6 Take M6 South (Towards Birmingham) for 6 miles onto M56 North Wales
Or:
Follow Manchester Airport signs which is on the M56 and Go westwards along M56 to its end following signs for North Wales. After about 7 miles on Dual Carriageway take left filter lane signed to MOLD.
Keep on this road (A494) and then pick up signs for RUTHIN. Leave RUTHIN following signs for BALA. (A494) Through BALA and on to DOLGELLAU (pronounced Dollgethly) See below: From Dolgellau to the Lodge
From East Midlands to Dolgellau:
A38 to Brownhills
A5 towards Cannock
Head for M54 to Shrewsbury
A458 to Welshpool
A458/A470 to Dolgellau
Past Dolgellau 1.5 miles Turn Left to Barmouth (Abermaw)
From Dolgellau to the Lodge
Don’t go into Dolgellau centre but stay on the main road A470 and follow directions towards BETWYS-Y-COED for about only one and a half miles. Turn left at the roundabout and head for BARMOUTH alongside the estuary. (A496)
Go right through BARMOUTH and head north on the HARLECH road.
Through Llanaber, Tal-y-bont then straight into Dyffryn Ardudwy. (5.5 miles)
Go through village past the Mitsubishi Garage on right, Willbrookes builder’s merchants on left and look out for the Ael-Y-Bryn Hotel on the right with a John Smiths Beer sign and an old tennis enclosure. Turn right in front of kid’s play area, into hotel drive and drive up past hotel and round the right hand side of the hotel and through galvanised gates. Go through the development and the lodge is the very top one in the corner.
